How to post to your facebook page as yourself and not your page

Maybe it’s just me, maybe I am simply clueless, but I have been looking forever for a way to post comments to facebook pages as myself and not as the page.

I thought it should just be as simple as “using facebook as my profile” (not the page) and then commenting.  But every time it would put my page icon with my comment – mostly inappropriate for my purposes.

I have googled, I have ‘asked’ I have pleaded and I have begged but there has been no answer forthcoming until today when I accidentally stumbled upon the key.

And, yes, I am embarrassed to say that I stumbled upon it, in a very obvious place – and now I wonder how I missed it.  Nevertheless, I figure that if I missed it then others have too, so here you go… (note: this process has changed since I first posted this solution – revised steps below …)

1. Go to the page you admin but wish to comment on as yourself
2. Look in the upper left hand corner of the screen for text that reads: “You are posting, commenting, and liking as [your page name] — Change to [your name]

During this facebook session while this option is checked your comment will appear to come from you, with your facebook avatar etc… instead of from the page and its avatar.
